Board of Director Minutes

Present: Ken Phipps, John Fitak, Chuck Garragues, Vicki Phipps, Ron Hankes, John McCormick, and Diana Hankes
The treasure’s report was accepted as distributed. The 2008 budget was discussed and approved with the following changes under expenses. The subscription line was renamed to teacher expense and includes the Intercity Scott subscription and TAC teacher dues. Dance books were included into the music line along with CDs. Name tags were added to the business card line.
There was discussion regarding the demo team “uniforms”. It was agreed dark casual shirts for the men and overskirts for the ladies would be nice alternate looks. Also the need for new name badges was discussed. Several possibilities were presented. No final decisions were made for either topic.
Wisconsin Scottish has asked if we would like to participate in the Wisconsin Highland Games Sept. 5-7, 2008. It was agreed it would be good to participate but would depend on entrance cost and dance location/schedule.
Ideas on increasing/retaining membership were discussed. It was decided more publicity was needed along with word of mouth. Also we would have a guest sign in sheet at the classes so we can have names, phone #, and email addresses of new people for future contact. Weekly class reminder emails will be sent out.
The annual General Meeting is on June 16, 2008.
The board of directors meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
